Coastal Home Services is a family owned and operated business serving the South Jersey shore area since 2005. We specialize in custom fireplace installations, service, repair and finish work. When we install your new fireplace, we’re a one-stop shop, there is no need to hire other contractors for the job (plumbers, carpenters, roofers, masons, etc.), meaning we can streamline the process for you from start to finish. Our goal is to make every step as effortless as possible for you, and with over 30 years of experience in the industry, you can expect knowledgeable, friendly, and professional service. What does it mean to be nfi certified and why is it so important?

Choosing and installing a hearth system without adequate expertise is like playing with fire…no pun intended! Planning and installing fireplaces, stoves and their venting systems requires experience, technical knowledge and skills. Numerous decisions–from proper floor protection to appliance sizing and placement to venting systems compatibility and height-should all be made with the expertise of a specialist.

Coastal is proud to be certified by The National Fireplace Institute®, an independent, non-profit certification agency, who has created the standard for certification in the hearth industry. This is now also mandated licensure requirement by the State of New Jersey.

During our busy season we may have an elevated amount of incoming calls to take and return, and also significant wait times for service calls. Please be patient and understand that we will get back to you within 24 business hours, as our office operates Monday-Friday.

*Please also remember that fireplaces are usually not a primary heat source for homes, but rather adds to the comfort and coziness of your home. Although we do not have a 24/7 emergency call line, we will attempt to offer service times that fit your schedule. If you are having an emergency, we recommend you call your gas company or 911.

 how often should i have my fireplace serviced and inspected?

It is recommended by the National Fire Protection Association and all manufacturers that your heating appliance be serviced and inspected ANNUALLY. These products require regular maintenance, just like your automobile, especially in our coastal, salt water environment. Not having annual service can greatly lessen the lifespan of an appliance and void manufacture warranty.

A fire burning inside your home is important to keep safe and well maintained! Your inspector will not only clean the unit thoroughly, but will also check for natural gas and carbon monoxide leaks, ensure that the fireplace is venting properly, and that there are no obstructions in the chimney. Your safety is our priority!
